It’s A LondOntLife #4 has been ready to go since last year. Without the local London Comic Con, without Words, without Tingfest, there really hasn’t been an outlet. We have had nothing but time to get on with the next book collection, It’s a LondOntLife #5 and we seem to be going with M&T as a local printer, but not ready soon enough for Free Comic Book Day. Books 2 and 3 – were print and packaged ready for that last Tingfest which was held off under that first wave of Covid – and will be seeing their first exposure on May 7 at Heroes. These next two books will be ready for events in the Summer and Fall.
Finally, we are finished the layout for the book collecting cartoons from 2020. It has been that long. And just in time to start the book for 2021.
Now, find a printer. Find distribution.
An iBooks 2 version of the cat book is now up on iTunes at: http://itunes.apple.com/ca/book/cat/id499745919?mt=11. Its a free download. Signed print versions are still available.
Phenomenal, is all I have to say. Phenomenal. Honestly, I think this is great. It is far to easy to read this as though I intend irony or sarcasm, but there are people out there in the world who have freely chosen to look at my art. I think that is amazing. And now I sound naive. Yes, it isn’t 10,000 after three days like Diesel Sweeties. I have no idea how many, or if any at all of the PDFs have been down-loaded, but I do know the download in Ireland isn’t from a relative. :-)
Yesterday I downloaded iBooks Author. It kills to spell that in American. While poking about and figuring out the interface and its design sensibilities, I managed to put together a short little ebook of the 20 Landscapes IV images. As carefully as I could I filled out all the fields and forms in iTunes Publisher, and waited while the book went up to the iTunes store.
Three or four days ago, I was looking into the possibility of using Book Creator on the iPad to do the same. A short twisted path of instructions required a special tax number from the IRS for foreign citizens and a few weeks of passing around notarized photocopies of my passport.
There are free PDF files available from the links just over there to the right. The files are big, and readable, of course, on a Mac or PC.
This shorter, more compact version is more attractive, livelier and somewhat more interactive, and designed especially for the iPad, and the whole thing was so damned easy.
Update Jan 25 2011: It’s live! Yay! Get it here: http://itunes.apple.com/ca/book/20-landscapes-iv/id497100073?mt=11
Fedex and the printer were busy. The book collecting the 20 images from this series just arrived. Same terms as the cat book, if you want one. I’ll put up a page for it soon.
