Strange Heads

The drawing above describes one basic state I continue to deal with. I don’t want to complain. Most recovering will know. But at the same time I want to talk about it. Personally I hate listening to people complain about being sick. I get it. Leave now.

A New System Emerges — The story how editorial cartoonist Steve Sack came out of retirement
Sack’s comeback highlights shift from newsrooms
The resident cartoonist for the Minneapolis Star-Tribune since 1981, Sack was a few years removed from defeating cancer with a combination of chemo and radiation when the fingers on his right hand began to feel numb. Four months later, his right hand was so numb he was no longer able to grab a pencil, pen or anything else he could use to draw his cartoons.
Bikes and Roads

Over the years we have drawn a number of Bike and Road and BikeLane cartoons. Some references will be pretty much bound by local knowledge.
The banana bike references a stretch near the university, an arc shaped park dubbed The Banana Kingdom. The path’s branding graffiti being recently painted over, it seemed like the easiest way to get some path maintenance.
Cyclists were told to stay off the sidewalks and ride on the road. In-city 60 km 4 lane highways aren’t very inviting. London #Ldnont is famously Not Just Bike’s Fake London.
Meantime discussion dwelled on what was the best way to deal with them. How should they be separated? Should they be separated? The fastest, cheapest solution was painted separators painted overnight so as not to disrupt traffic. Some flappy bollard and some concrete curb island lanes have been installed on various stretches.
Cat on red blanket

Had a slow news day and had the chance to work on another drawing. There is a photo buried in this image worked over in ZenBrush and Procreate.
So I just looked at the posting > sharing and somehow now I have 15 locations. And like 12 of them have no identifying icons.
On War Plan Red

First, we send a joint Army-Navy overseas force to capture the port city of Halifax, cutting the Canadians off from their British allies.
Then we seize Canadian power plants near Niagara Falls, so they freeze in the dark.
Then the U.S. Army invades on three fronts — marching from Vermont to take Montreal and Quebec, charging out of North Dakota to grab the railroad center at Winnipeg, and storming out of the Midwest to capture the strategic nickel mines of Ontario.

Yea it’s an old story actually, the 1930’s planning document’s being declassified in the 1970’s.
So, here above is a bit of my Sunday morning Doomscrolling, now shifted to Substack. Yesh. It’s still impossible to find anything twice.
The Technate of America

Now I have no idea about the politics of this Substack pages author or podcast , but just to say, this also showed up in my Sunday Morning Substack Doomscrolling.
I have no idea that Doc Malik Honest Health is something I might want to follow. Sounds sus. So I won’t link. Anyway.
As a preadolescent I thought a Technocracy was a good idea; Let the world be lead by skilled, science, and sound facts. That is as much as I understood at a decade’s age.
Technocracy will have a direct impact on every aspect of our lives, our health, our freedoms, our everything. It’s not something new, but has it’s origins in the 1930s. Notably Elon Musks grandfather, Joshua N. Haldeman was a former director of Technocracy Inc. Are the Tech bros of today, just the latest reincarnation of Technocracy?
—Doc Malik
I’m not so sure about this either…
…radio guest, [Patrick] Wood’s research now expands beyond Trilateral Commission dominance to explore the rapid rise of Technocracy, Transhumanism, and Scientism, forces that are reshaping global economics, politics, and even religion.
—Doc Malik
… says this is coming from some conspiratorial mindset.
Anyway all that aside, the map is the point.

Haldeman… the name… what whisper recognized that 60 year old echo? But the connection…
Anyway the map. The map. There it is. The whole of “America“ – one state out of 1984. Whose voice raised this destiny to the Orange One’s addled mind? Because he sure didn’t think of it himself when so much of American History and desires are already plainly laid out to plunder.
But there it is at the top, that plain whole pattern plain to seen.
If Donald wants to turn back to Mckinley of the late 19th C, then there is an early 20th C roadmap to retrace.
And so the whole Substack post ends with donation solicitations, merch adverts, testimonials, affiliates, and a pledge “as a private citizen protected by the Geneva Convention”. So. A right-wing free citizen kind of place.
But the map…
