Old Fogey Story

Two kids, maybe ten or twelve, one with a knit caps, the other with a backward baseball cap and shades, have taken to practising their skateboard skills on the street outside the house. Today, Ian, who lives across the road, now sixteen or so, came out to be with them. He’s showing them some tricks, kicks, twirls, flips. He’s been banging up and down the street since he was, oh, say, ten or twelve years old, scraping up the curbs skating, learning from another kid who lived a little further down the street.
